Today’s Thursday Spa Business Break topic? Meaningful interaction on Facebook, and why it matters for your spa business marketing.

The Importance of Using Your Voice in Facebook Marketing

A show of hands: who here is guilty of responding to Facebook comments with emojis, thumbs-up reactions, or simply not responding at all? If you raised yours then I have some bad news for you— you aren’t going to be seeing the levels of Facebook engagement you want to be seeing with that approach.

Why? Because the Facebook algorithm actively rewards accounts who respond (yes, properly respond!) and comment on posts. Why? Well, it’s all to do with their effort to diminish brand visibility and up personal account visibility after complaints were made about too many secular posts showing up on peoples’ feeds.

So how do you create and respond to posts in order to curate meaningful engagement? I’m here to tell you!

How to Curate Your Facebook Content

  • Use the “Saved” function: tap the arrow on posts to save them to your archive and have them readily available to share them to your page on the fly.

  • Organize your Saves: use categories to organize your Saved content to iron out your sharing process.

  • Use your voice: not voicing your opinion or personalizing your shared content is a huge misstep that I see spa owners making with their Facebook marketing! Whether it be talking about skin care lines, services, or popular opinions, sharing your opinion ensures that your audience is given the opportunity to know you and your business… which is vital for brand loyalty!

The Missed Opportunity: Asking Questions

When working on developing your Facebook marketing, the quickest way to receive engagement is by setting your audience up to engage with your posts. How? With questions, of course!

Three quick, easy, and engaging question examples are:

  • “What do you think?”

  • “What’s your experience?”

  • “How would you react?”
